Premier League

Bridge United A 2 Corofin Harps 0

The home side were more comfortable than the scoreline suggests in LIT on Sunday morning. Bridge dominated possession from the start but failed to represent that domination on the scoreline over the 90 minutes.

Eoghan Pewter opened the scoring on 8 minutes when he rivalled a brilliant strike to the left top corner of the net from a Christy Griffen through ball.

Corofin did not help their cause when Shane Constable and Steven Keane were shown straight red cards within 90 seconds of each other in the moments immediately prior to half time.

As a result the second half  resulted in again large periods of Bridge possession and some resolute defending from Corofin. Kieran Quinlan came closest to doubling the lead on 70 minutes but his effort from 6 yards was brilliantly saved by David Phillips in the Harps goal. On 80 minutes however a Trevor Maxwell cross from the left again fell to Quinlan who this time made no mistake to secure the points.
