Bridge United A 4 Avenue United A 0
Bridge got off to a winning start with a hard earned but impressive victory over Avenue in LIT on Sunday morning.
Avenue had the best two chances of the opening half when Ronan Kevin was first denied by a great save by Barry Deasy and moments later had his attempt cleared off the line by the hugely impressive Eoin Guinan.
After a scoreless first half Bridge came out with all guns blazing and took the lead on 60 minutes when Mikey Mcnamara had his effort saved by Avenue keeper but debutant Eoghan Pewter was on hold to tap home the rebound.
Lee Wall made it 2-0 on 70 minutes when he scored an outstanding goal from 25 yards.
Substitute John Keogh wrapped up the points with 2 goals in the dying moments.
