Ennis Carpets U19 League Semi Final
Shannon Town v Bridge United
Cragg, Tulla
7.30pm T. White

Bridge United and Shannon Town u19s do battle for a place in this year's league final Wednesday evening at Tulla United's Cragg.

The league was divided in to two groups with 6 teams in each. Bridge United finished runners up in their group behind an impressive Ennis Town side, while Shannon Town topped their group.

In the Quarter Final Bridge United accounted for Newmarket Celtic, a single goal is all that separated the sides. An in-direct free kick smashed to the net via Liam Flynn's left peg.

The frenetic energy on display that day will no doubt be a key ingredient if Bridge United are deemed successful in their bid to reach the final.

A physicality personified by Mike Carey, Mikey Carr and Adam Murphy Black in particular. The tempo and willingness to chase and suffocate the opposition was joy to behold.

The modern game is often accused of being devoid of emotion and a tackle, this side must buck that trend if they've any chance of causing a small upset here.

Drew Deegan and Ian Collins had their finest game to date as a partnership, the minutes racked up at B Team level might just be bearing fruit.

The electric pace of Tan Greene is an asset going in both directions down the right, an individual who's certainly caught the eye of late.

Evan O Callaghan is no doubt capable of unlocking defences with his passing, a big game is vital from the Kilmurry man, he'll need to mix the soft touches with some heavy metal pressing out of possession.

Colm Hennessy has been scoring goals for as long as anyone can remember, he has an uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time. I suppose when you work as hard as he does and have an attitude to match you earn your own slice of luck.

Ryan Perez, young Jack O'Halloran, the list goes on, they'll need them all too. It's not going to be easy nor will Bridge expect it to be, but it's just starting to show signs that this team is teetering on the boil. I say that tentatively as not to get burnt, if you'll excuse the pun.
