Wednesday April 6
Bridge United A v Sporting Ennistymon
Shannon Rd 6.30
B. Punch

The first of this season's midweek games takes place tomorrow evening, and as luck would have it, right on cue, the recent good weather has abandoned us.

Maybe it's a sign, the unpredictability of the Irish weather on par with the unpredictably of Clare Premier's midweek results.

It's never easy plan for these games, work, college and all of life's other distractions play a part, with team lineups varying wildly from Sundays to Wednesdays.

What we do know however is that Bridge United have had somewhat of a rennasonce of late, winning their last 6 on the bounce. This form will count for nothing come 6.30 tomorrow and this game, as most mid-week games can, will take on a life of it's own.

Sporting Ennistymon themselves are enjoying a fine season. They sit a point ahead of Bridge in the table, albeit with a game extra played and they too still have an interest in the Clare Cup, with a tie away to Kilkishen Celtic next on their agenda.

Manager Mark Culbert is as expected quite wary of Sporting, noting their run of good fortunes this season, and hopes his side are at their best when the men from North Clare come knocking.

With no injuries of late and rumours of Storm Devanney returning to fitness, Bridge look to be in good shape. This one could come down to an individual moment of magic (or indeed madness) to swing either way. Bridge will be hoping for a good early start to set them on their way. Let the midweek madness begin!
