Anne Romer Florist First Division
Avenue United B v Bridge United B
Roslevan, 2pm, Brian Punch
Sunday afternoon sees our B team return to action for the first time in a couple of weeks when they make the journey to Ennis to face Avenue United B.
Our B team are much like their Avenue counterparts, with the emphasis of developing youth players and giving them an opportunity to showcase their talents at adult level.
With youth, of course, comes inconsistency, which often leads to a mixed fortune regarding results. However, gaining valuable experience at this level is vital for developing our youth players and invaluable for their progression.
Its often overlooked that the manager of a B team has the most difficult of jobs within the club. Reliant on youth and u19 players to make up the squad, and often having his or her best players cherrypicked by the senior side.
This group of players has been steadily improving since the beginning of the season. It relies on the experiences of players such as Donald Devanney and Stevie Mulready at the heart of their defence. Blended with youthful exuberance like Drew Deegan, Mike Carey and Ollie Cesarz.
Adam Murphy-Black, as previously mentioned, has really excelled since his introduction to the adult ranks. The accomplished midfielder will surely be looking to get as many minutes under his belt at this level as possible. Many at the club are watching his progression with a keen eye with big things hopefully to come.
Kyle Walker, Eli and Adam O'Sullivan all came through off the back of the successful Youth side of 2020.
Ronan Touhy and Paul Corry combine to make a strong dynamic striking partnership that has the potential to trouble any defence on their day.
Bridge B will head to Ennis with optimism and confidence and will only that a good performance from all will give them a great chance of securing all 3 much needed points.
