Ennis Carpets u19 League Group 1
Saturday March 5th
Avenue Utd v Bridge Utd
Roslevan, 2pm, M. Rock
In the first of our weekend previews we look ahead to the crunch tie for our u19 side. They travel to Roslevan knowing that a win will see them qualify for a league semi final and secure second position in Group 1.
Having met Avenue on the opening day of the season, Bridge won out on a 3-2 scoreline. Bridge sit in second position on 18 points while Avenue occupy third place, just two points behind on 16.
The U19s last league outing was a 7-0 demolition of Manus Celtic, a much tighter contest is expected Saturday and manager Ruairi Price predicts no different, "I'm expecting this game to be won in midfield and hoping for big performances from team captain Evan O Callaghan and Clare Youths Adam Murphy Black".
The experience these player have been gaining from playing adult football is invaluable with Drew Deegan, Cian , Adam Murphy-Black and Mike Carey all featuring regularly for the club's B team.
A sign of a well performing team is consistently high numbers at training and this group is no different. A big squad of players is expecting to be on duty on Saturday.
The management and squad would all like to wish team member Jack O Halloran the very best of luck as his u16 team are in National Cup duty in Kildare Saturday.
A notoriously difficult venue to get a win, the trip to Ennis will prove a testing one to our lads, no doubting anything other than 100% commitment and a solid team performave will be needed to take home the coveted 3 points.
