With phase 2 of our pitch development now complete and the commencement of our clubhouse build scheduled for early August there is a lot to be excited about for Bridge United players and members at the moment. Works on the main pitch and training pitch were completed in July with both engineer and club very satisfied with the results. All details of this progress were provided by Treasurer Jonathan Downes at last Fridays AGM.

Together with the great success of our League winning B team, the continued development of our A squad and the superb work being done with our underage teams the club now finds itself in a very strong position. Upon the completion of its facilities the platform will be set to further improve in all player development areas and community services.

There were no changes to report at the top table with Finbar Toomey continuing on as chairperson and Jonathan Downes as Treasurer. Finbar and Jonathan have been critical in their roles and have shown great leadership and guidance through the busiest period of the clubs history.

We are also delighted to report that Ali Quinlan remains as Secretary for her second year in the role.

Caroline O’Sullivan, Mark Egan, Michelle Toomey and Barry Downes remain as Vice Chairperson, Asst. Secretary, Asst. Treasurer and PRO respectively.

Our Clare league delegates for the year will be Caroline O’Sullivan, Eoghan McNulty and Jim Maxwell.

On the club management front Eoghan McNulty enters a third year as A Team Manager. The A Team went the full 2015/16 league campaign undefeated but fell short by the minimum for league honours. Michael Maxwell has stepped down from the management team and the club would like to thank him for his huge effort over the last two campaigns. We have no doubt he will continue on in some capacity within the club.  Albert Finnin joins the coaching team and together with Barry Downes and Conor Tierney (Physio)  the A team look to be in good hands again for the coming season.

Our most successful manager in the clubs recent history Jim Maxwell will continue on his role with the B squad. Jim guided his team to the  2nd Division  title last season and will look to push on again this season in a highly competitive first division. Jim will again be joined on the sidelines by Ian Fawl who enters his 5th season in succession with the B team.

The club will enter a U17  or U18 side depending on numbers for the coming season. Kieran Quinlan and Ryan Hodge have been appointed managers for the coming season.
