(Clare League Report)
A very entertaining tie saw the Bridge men secure their third win from 3 games to sit at the top of the Second Division. One wonders how this might have been different if Manus had started the way they finished. Bridge took an early lead when Eric Carrs through ball put Eoghan Maxwell through on goal and he took his goal with a sublime finish coolly lifting it over the advancing Manus keeper.
This seemed to unsettle Manus so much so that they conceded a second shortly afterwards when John Keogh had all the time in the world to finish from close range.
Manus then found themselves three down just at the start of the second half when Mikey McNamara finished a great through ball from John Keogh.
Suddenly Manus made a raft of changes introducing Conor Galvin and John Reidy and from here till the final whistle Manus laid siege to the Bridge goal. Galvin was simply immense and Manus had the ball in the net within minutes of his introduction only for it to be controversially disallowed. A superb eye of the needle pass from Galvin found Mark Foley who slotted home Manus first before Eamon Callinan headed a John Reidy flick on to the net.
There was only one team in it at this stage and sure enough Manus created another opportunity only for good defending from Bridge at the back stopped a certain equaliser as time ran out for Manus when Terry Kennedy blew the full time whistle.
