A lightning start provided the perfect platform for an impressive away victory in tough Lahinch condition on Sunday morning.
A quick exchange with Jordan Downes on 7 minutes put Derek Fahy through on goal who finished from a tight angle. Fahy made it two on 15 minutes when Downes headed a Kieran Quinlan cross back across goal for a tapped in second. Fahy completed his hatrick on 30 minutes when he volleyed home an excellent Quinlan cross at the back post.
The hosts started the second half much better and were unlucky not to pull one back when Ciaran Monaghan headed effort was brilliantly saved by Paul Touhy. Touhy was again on hand to tip a Jamesy McGonigly effort around the post on 55 minutes.
Despite the good start by the hosts it was the visitors who scored next and put the game beyond Sporting. A free kick from the half way line travelled all the way to the 6 yard line where Quinlan headed home.
Substitutes Ethan Slater and Brian Corry both added to the scoreline with brilliant finishes from outside the box.
