Coole FC 2 - Bridge United B – 3

Bridge United B have a proven pedigree in Clares Cup competition and opened their current campaign with the scalp of First Division high flyers Coole FC.

The visitors had to come from behind on 2 occasions in the first half before eventually seeing off a strong Coole FC side.

The home side took an early lead before Gavin Downes equalised. The first division side took the lead once more before Mark Culbert headed home the second equaliser of the day just before the break.

With conditions difficult and the wind playing a significant role the Bridge now had the elements at their back and secured their win when Jason Loughnane scored the winner midway through the second half.

Bridge United B will now face Moher Celtic B in Round 2 this weekend and will hope to continue their strong record in this competition.
