Bridge had to fight all the way to secure back to back wins for first time this season with a battling display against an experienced Kilkishen side on Sunday afternoon. The home side fielded no fewer than five ex United players in Kieran Brennan, Denis Murphy, Paul Murphy, Colm Fitsimons and Fergus Donovan.

However it was an ex Kilkishen player playing for the Bridge who opened the scoring on the 30 minute mark when Barry Downes headed through to Ben McLaughlin who finished well past Brennan.

The home side equalised on 63 minutes through Niall Donavan.

However the visitors grabbed a winner with 10 minutes remaining when Jason Loughnane dispossed the Celtic full back and blasted to the net.

Clare Cup Draws

Bridge United B have been drawn away to Coole FC in round 1 of the 2017 Clare Cup. The winners of this tie will play Moher B in round 2.

The A Team have received a bye through to Round 2 where they will await the winners of Turnpike Rovers and Manus Celtic.

Bridge Youths team will play Avenue United in the Quarter Final of the Clare Cup.

U12's in Last 64

Bridge United Under 12 side will take on Broadford United of the Limerick Desmond League this Saturday at 13.30 in the last 64 of the FAI National U12 Cup.

Ensure to get up to support the lads who have had great victories over Carew Park, Regional United and Ennis Town to reach this stage.
