Premier League Result

Bridge United A - 3

Kilrush Rangers - 2

An injury time Eoghan Pewter secured 3 vital points for Bridge United on Sunday morning last.

The home were behind on 30 minutes only to instantly reply through an excellent Eric Carr finish after the keeper had originally stopped Christy Griffens effort.

Bridge got their noses in front on 48 minutes when Steve Touhy's half volleyed to the net from Darragh Fitzgeralds headed cross.

Kilrush however refused to go away and equalised on 51 minutes when a free from the left eluded the Bridge defence and went all the way the the Bridge net.

The home side were pushing hard for a winner and were very unfortunate on 75 minutes when Eoghan Pewter squared the ball for Darragh Fitzgerald who saw his effort come of the post.

As the game approached the 90 minute mark Kilrush had a great opportunity to take all three points but the home side can be thankful for a magnificent stop by Paul Touhy.

Moments later the Bridge were to take full advantage as Derek Fahy got down the left flank before cutting in to shoot, his effort was parried to the onrushing Eoghan Pewter who made no mistake from 6 yards.

Adrian McDonagh opened the scoring on 10 minutes and doubled his tally on 20 minutes, both great strikes from the edge of the box. The visitors scored a third goal against the run of play on 30 minutes when a corner from the right was headed home.

Bridge got back in the game on 35 minutes when Mark Culbert bundled the ball to the net. Bridge were back in the game on 70 minutes when Ronan Touhy scored but Manus secured the win in the closing stages with their fourth.
