Munster Junior Cup – Round 2

Bridge Celtic – 0

Bridge United A – 2

Bridge United got back to winning ways on Sunday morning in Bridgetown with a deserved win over fellow premier side Bridge Celtic.

The visitors got off to the perfect start when Kieran Quinlan turned sharply in the box to score from a Mikey McNamara cross within the opening 2minutes.

United were dominating possession and created a number of half chances to double their lead but it was the hosts who came closest to scoring an equaliser just before half time when Donie Whelans effort from the edge of the box was brilliantly saved by a full stretch Paul Touhy.

Bridge doubled their lead on 56 minutes when Mikey McNamara cooly slotted home from a Trevor Maxwell cross.
