2 Jon Okoro goals in the opening 12 minutes gave Bridge United the perfect start in cold but bright conditions in LIT on Sunday morning.
The opener came on 4 minutes after good work down the left wing by Chris Lake when he crossed for Okoro who saw his first effort saved but followed up to score his first of the game.
His second came on 12 minutes when Rob Wall won the ball back in midfield. He fed Trevor Maxwell who played an inch perfect through ball to Okoro who drilled the ball home.
Okoro almost completed a 15 minute hattrick when his superb effort from 25 yards rattled the underside of the Sporting crossbar but bounced out.
Chris Lake scored the third on 32 mins cutting in from the left and finishing well past Leigh in the sporting nets.
Sporting were working hard with Cathal McConigley a constant threat on the break.
The first 25 minutes of the second half was a much more even affair with John Mulready on top form in the Bridge nets.
The goal of the game came on 75 minutes when Steve Carroll played the ball into Jay Whyte whose quick interchange with Okoro led to his first time cross buried to the net by Brian O'Connor.
A fortunate fifth came on 85 when Cathal McGoniglys back pass was completely missed by the Sporting keeper Leigh to find the net.
