Heading into Saturdays fixtures both our Under 13 sides had an opportunity to win their respective leagues and despite a great effort from both sides we fell slightly short with our efforts.

U13 Division 2

Bridge United - 0

Newmarket Celtic -2

Our U13 A team faced a strong Newmarket side knowing only a win would be enough to secure the championship. The Bridge started well and created some early chances but the visitors took the lead just before the break.

With the Bridge pushing for an equaliser in the second hald Newmarket secured the victory with 5 minutes remaining. A very brave effort from the Bridge boys including two penalty saves from our keeper and man of the match Daniel Kelly.

U13 Division 3

Shannon Town - 2

Bridge United - 2

Our U13 B team will live to fight another day however following their 2-2 draw with Shannon Town. Both sides were level on points going into the final game. The team showed huge courage and determination to come from 2 goals down to level t he game thanks to two Colm Hennessy goals. In fact the Bridge side were unlucky not to win the game and were denied by an incrdible save by the Shannon Town keeper.

The draw means the league will be decided by a play off game provisionally fixed for September 23 in Tulla

Youths League

Bridge United - 3

Shannon Town - 2

A Jordan Downes hattrick secured all three points in this tight affair in Sixmilebridge on Saturday. The win leaves the youths side with 2 wins from 3 games going in to this weeks games which will see them play Avenue at home on Tuesday evening and Ennis Town away on Saturday.
