Bridge United 2 - 0 Moher Celtic

With the wind and rain whipping up and Moher Celtic coming to town, a depleted Bridge United side were made work all the way to a good two nil result on Sunday morning.

 I With the summer weather a distant memory free flowing football was a non runner. The first half came and went with little or no chances created with both defences cancelling each other out.
Bridge United thought they'd hit the from when Trevor Maxwell steered a header Tommy Barrett ball beyond the Moher number one but his effort was ruled out for offside.

The second half saw the weather deteriorate further, the swirling wind causing havoc. Bridge United started to crank up the pressure and were rewarded with 85 minutes on the clock.

Tommy Barrett crashed home a free kick to break the deadlock and lift the growing tension around Sixmilebridge.

Any doubts about the result were put to bed when a break down the left saw Ethan Slater slide a pin point cross to the boot of Mikey McNamara and the striker made no mistake from 6yards to wrap up all three points for the home side.
