Clare Premier League Result

Bridge Celtic - 2

Bridge United A - 4

Two goals in the opening 15 minutes set the tone for this well contested Premier league game played in very wet conditions on Sunday morning in Bridgetown. The visitors missed chances early on through Fahy and Griffen but hit the front when Griffen made amends for his earlier miss by heading home a Fahy corner on 10 minutes. Fahy doubled the lead on 15 minutes when he was slipped through by Eric Carr and made no mistake finishing well from a tight angle.

Trevor Maxwell added a third on 35 minutes when he was the beneficiary of another Fahy assist before calmly slotting past the keeper. On the stroke of half time the hosts got a lifeline when United failed to clear from a corner and Cathal O'Connell finished well from the resultant scramble.

At this stage despite the visitors dominating the chances the next goal would be crucial . Thankfully it was Bridge United who got it on 60 minutes when Trevor Maxwells excellent cross was headed home by Mikey McNamara.

Gareth Kennedy pulled one back for the hosts on 75 minutes but that was where the revival ended and United will be delighted to come away with a hard fought but well deserved victory.
